Founded in 1993 in opposition to the construction of an interstate highway — and the resulting destruction of so much of the area’s rural pioneering history — the Elizabeth Township Historical Society of Miami County, Ohio, works to “preserve the provenance and the continuing heritage lifestyle of the people and place of Elizabeth Township.”

For more than 113 years, Temple B’nai Israel of McKeesport and later White Oak, PA has touched the lives of thousands of people. Our Temple was founded in 1912, and our McKeesport Shaw Avenue Temple opened in 1923. In 2000, we moved to our White Oak Cypress Drive Temple. This website is a treasure trove of information sharing the Legacy of the many people and events that have been part of our amazing history.

Chartered in 1856 (though first used as a burial ground much earlier), the McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery lies at the heart of our community and supports genealogical research inquiries.

The Homestead Cemetery, first chartered in 1886, currently operates as a non-profit and is recovering from decades of mismanagement and neglect with the support of local volunteers.
