Current Volunteer Needs/Events
Our goal is to create a meaningful and rewarding volunteer experience by matching individual interests and skill sets with the needs of the McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center. Whether your strengths lie in research, organization, hands-on projects, or public engagement, we strive to place volunteers in roles that are both fulfilling and impactful.
We invite you to speak with our Volunteer Coordinators, Bonnie Stern and Caroline Gilmore, to explore how your talents, experience, and interests can best support the work of the Heritage Center. As our facilities, exhibits, and programming continue to grow, volunteers play a vital role in helping us carry out our mission of preserving, protecting, and sharing the remarkable history of McKeesport and its surrounding communities.
Volunteer opportunities are wide-ranging and include office organization, inventory management, data processing, library and archival research, collections care, exhibit support, facilities maintenance, and special projects. Additional opportunities are continually emerging as new programs and initiatives are developed. No matter your background or level of experience, your time and talents can make a lasting difference in ensuring our region’s history is preserved for future generations.
