Nicholas Alverson is a Pittsburgh native and graduate of Plum Senior High School. He is currently pursuing a degree in Archaeological Anthropology with a minor in Civil War Era Studies at Gettysburg College. With experience in archival research, genealogy, and museum work, he brings both skill and passion to the McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center.

Having uncovered ancestral ties to the Mayflower, Revolutionary War patriots, and a family presence in McKeesport dating back over a century, Nicholas sees this internship not merely as career preparation—but as a personal responsibility. For him, historical preservation is a way to honor the sacrifices of those who came before him and to ensure their stories are neither forgotten nor distorted. He intends to carry that mission forward through a career in public history—connecting others to the heritage that shaped this nation and helping to rekindle a lasting sense of patriotism.
