Description

In Did You Know That Boy? author Dale Saller has followed his penchant for history and nostalgia with the narrative of the lives of “The McKeesport 23.” He tells the story of the ordinary lives of twenty-three men raised in the Western Pennsylvania region known as the Mon Valley, specifically the city of McKeesport. They served in the US Military between the years 1965-1971 during the Vietnam War.

“Did you know that boy?” was an anxiety-riddled question many parents and friends asked when inquiring about the identity and fate of those who were active in the service during this time. The 58,000 plus lives lost during Vietnam became part of human history. One can only think what lives they might have led had they lived.
